Testimony

oh, also, I’m one of those people that God revealed Himself to, by His Spirit, through the reading
of the bible. I was a teenager in the RCC. A boy in my high school died in an accident and i was
shaken by that– i went to my priest for counseling. I asked him, “what happens after we die?” The
man said, “We don’t really know.” I asked him, ” Sooo, what are we supposed to do to… you know,
have God?” (I did not know how to ask…) He said, “Just keep DOING all the things we tell you to
do (in the RCC) and you’ll be fine.” I knew that was a crock because i had been doing all that ritual,
all the tons of religious acts, etc
for 17 years, and i knew i did not have God.

I went home and went in my room and told God in my heart (prayed), “I don’t get it. The grown ups are not giving me any answers.
Please tell me what the point of life is?”

A very short time later, I got a paperback NT in the mail, addressed to me, and I don’t know who mailed it.
I opened it to John and read it and it was God speaking, it was Jesus speaking to me, for real, through the words.

He revealed Himself to me and opened my eyes to see Him and I believed, and He was real, and instantly
i had a relationship with Him. This was before I ever met a Christian, or went to any kind of church (outside RCC)
or heard “the gospel”. It was powerful and He used the bible (book of John) to make Himself known to me.

(Then Evangelical church sucked me up and held me for 26 years. I’m trying to get back to the simple faith in Jesus and just walk with Him, like in the beginning.)

Thought that I would say hello and state that your audio
programs are very appreciated. Over the last six months or so I have
listened to every one of them. It is most pleasant to hear the musings
of a kindred spirit. I don’t feel quite so isolated hearing the lastest
podcasts with Gordon Comstock, Ev Haliford, etc.
