The fifth seal opens with a vision from heaven The martyrs in this passage that the souls under the altar are told to wait for would be the Multitude. When does the killing of the Multitude begin? It begins at the hands of the Serpents of the 6th trumpet at a designated time….a time called “a little season.” We open up the vision and examine the timing and landmarks of this period, along with some commentary and prophetic overviews. There are two riders associated with the pale horse: these are called Death and Hell. We identify these two riders by their spiritual names: Death is representative of the Serpents, who are spiritually dead and will partake of the second death. Hell is the Scorpions for they follow with the Serpents in a deadly union. These two riders are one, and their ultimate destination…the lake of fire. The multitudes are captives of this rider and except their days were shortened they would share the fate of this unholy union.

The Black Horse and the Scales

The black horse is a representation of the Scorpions. The pair of balances is an identification of commerce using the elements of wheat and barley with monetary value. The Scorpions betray the Multitude for personal gain. Let’s examine this horse and its attributes which links the black horse to the Scorpions.

The red horse is a representation of the Serpents of the 6th trumpet. The Serpents claim the heritage of Esau. If you look back to the birth of Esau, he came out red and hairy all over.

The color red is also signifying blood, for there is blood that is shed. The key clue in this passage is the sword. In Ezekiel’s hair, the Multitude is scattered in the wind and the Lord draws a sword out after them, this sword is the sword wielded by the Serpents. The sword of course is another metaphor. It is representative of the death of the Multitude.

The unfolding of revelation…what is God doing? What is He saying? The movement of the Spirit, as the world moves away from the “old things” into the new things; things decreed from this time, even the hidden things .

This study, from the book, “HIS Secret” by Sue Patterson, details surprising aspects of the revealed Word of the Lord…a new way of understanding in the “plural learning” of the metaphoric language.

We are scribes, we are messengers:

Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe whichis instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which   bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old. - Matthew 13:52

In the Greek, a scribe is a person who records things in a written record. The definition for scribe is; a writer, i.e. (professionally) scribe or secretary.

The underlying root word definition for scribe is; a writing, i.e. a letter, note, epistle, book, etc.; plural learning:–bill, learning, letter, scripture, writing, written. The root definition means; to “grave”, especially to write; figuratively, to describe. The plural learning is the metaphoric language that we have learned and are continuing to learn in the Third Day studies.

God does not change His character, He is unmovable in His will, but He does perform “new things”:

“And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding…”- Daniel 2:21

When one is wise, as the five wise virgins of Matthew 25, we begin to UNDERSTAND…to KNOW in new ways…through the veil of the parables and metaphors, as the Christ told us:

“Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables…” - Mark 4:11

Those who are “without” (Greek, exo-outside the doors) are the foolish, the stiff-necked, and blind…without the oil (anointing) to discern the movement of the Spirit in the final times. The new thing is decreed to those will do see, do hear, and follow the call of Wisdom. When one is wise, as the five wise virgins of Matthew 25, we begin to UNDERSTAND…to KNOW in new ways…through the veil of the parables and metaphors, as the Christ told us:

The modern religious institutional system of Christianity IS  the final round of the wicked and adulterous generation…they ARE the sign…of impending Armageddon…upon the “church.”

The Third Day’s metaphorical code opens up the cryptic vision of Ezekiel’s wheels. The four faces of the creatures, the lightning and firey countenance, the open view of the heavens, are all symbols which stream from the exiles in Chaldea to the Cross.

The conclusion of the “distillation” of the judgments of the Book of Revelation, tied into the saga of the multitude, serpents, and scorpions which have been long detailed in the Third day studies. Again, the outcome is to break more of the traditional thinking off, and become acquainted with HOW the prophetic views are being presented.

Traditional prophecy writers and teachers have plotted out time lines, broken out elaborate sequences for each element in John’s vision, and presented what is, truly,a breathless cinematic portrayal of God’s final deliverance…as a flat lifeless “Power Point” slide show. Revelation is about VISION:

apocalypse a pok a lyp sis [Greek=uncovering], genre represented in early Jewish and in Christian literature in which the secrets of the heavenly world or of the world to come are revealed by angelic mediation within a narrative framework.

When one grasps the expanse of this work in the spiritual, symbolic, and cinematic scope…it opens up entirely new and powerful concepts in prophetic interpretation.

And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.

This, ninth, synopsis series combines over 20 hours of the trumpet judgments studies presented in the original Third Day studies. Compressed into this study are the seals and vials of Revelation, because they intertwine each other and are, each, a view of the  scriptural vision given to John on the island of Patmos.

The Two witnesses study moves into the realm of the  judgments of Revelation, specifically what are called the vial judgments. This show details some of the landmarks related to specific events, and the key actors on the stage of the great tribulation.

The Book of Revelation is loaded with cryptic  imagery that has been interpreted without a coherent anchoring to the whole writ of scripture. The Bible gives us an interpretive system which aids us in decoding these prophecies based upon the historical patterns of judgment, the identifications of spiritual entities, and the language of metaphor found in the root tongues.

Threading the allegorical needle by connecting the tribe of Manasseh to the five daughters of Zelophehad, who represent in allegory, the drama of the multitude…the two witnesses. It all connects the critical identification and events arrayed against the backdrop of the tribulation in great detail.

This show is the lead-in to the teachings of the vial judgments and some timing aspects.

“The 1st Vial is describing the marking of the Serpents and the Scorpions which sets them on their path. The devil enters into them and they go to do what they are to do. They have passed the point of no return.”

“Ephraim and Manasseh”

The prophetic scriptures often rely on communicating concepts at a symbolic, metaphoric, or allegorical level in order to connect key identifications. The two witnesses have remained enigmatic largely because most scholars were unaware of crucial blocks of data encoded in the living allegories of the people of the Hebrews.

This show begins one of the most dramatic turns in interpreting the last days events and actors, by reaching back into the early history of the tribes of Israel and connecting linkages and types to identify the spiritual roots of the two witnesses.

The two witnesses of Revelation 11 have long been enigmatic figures of prophecy. Many interpretations have been offered as to the identity of the witnesses; in modern times they have been caricatured as two reincarnated Hebrew prophets such as Moses and Elijah.

These interpretations are riddled with the conflicts and inconsistencies which spring from doctrines of men and the failure to harmonize the metaphorical language of prophetic scripture with the events they portray.

This, eighth, installment of the synoptic studies condenses over twenty hours of the original “Third Day” study into a concise survey of scripture and clearly identifies these two witnesses, and the events they portray in the final chapters of human history.

“Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.“- Hebrews 12:16

The Esau Effect is another of the prophetic “ripples” that appear in the metaphorical prophetic studies of the Third Day. It is a spiritual dynamic which occurs repeatedly, and it is given to us as an example:

Mount Seir was the mountain that Esau occupied; its inhabitants were the Edomites, and it was completely destroyed by the children of Ammon and Moab.   We can find confirmation of this in Malachi 1:3

“And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness. “

This verse speaks about both the past and the future in the same passage. The dragons of the wilderness are the Serpents (the second third of the apostate). The dragons of the wilderness inherit the mountains and heritage of Esau. The giving away of the spiritual birthright of the modern daybeliever is being handed to the physical state of Israel by the Christians. But—they are not Christians, they are spiritual Edomites destined for the pit. The Abomination of Desolation is well on its way.

They traded Messiah for Barabbas—their birthright for a bowl of cold soup. This is the “Esau Effect” which moved the ministry of the Gospel from a racial/religious construct called Israel into a broader movement that would include all “peoples, nations, tongues, and tribes.”

Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. [10] And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.- Matthew 24:9

The Judas Cycle is the prophetic picture of the tribulation of the saints—specifically, the multitiude, who come to the truth and are then spoiled and killed by the government (the scorpions) and the apostate churches (the serpents).

This cycle is a replay of the betrayal and murder of Jesus Christ on a grand scale. The multitude are those who wash their garments in the Blood of Christ. They are ministered to by the 144,000 for preparation, and do indeed “love not their lives unto death…” This show reviews the key scriptures which predict this event, as it recasts the betrayal, trial, and cold-blooded execution of Messiah onto a global holocaust.

We conclude the study of the language of metaphor with some insights into the operation of interpreting scripture from a fresh perspective…not the stale cartoon prophetic images of doom and destruction, but a concise and highly focused view of the meanings of the cryptograms and images which veil one of the most debated verses in prophecy:

Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.- Revelation 13:18

The number of the beast is broken down into two numbers:

660 which refers to the Serpents and 6 which refers to the Scorpions. This number for each one is the number of a man, that man would be James Strong. It is the numbers which he assigned to each one of those definitions. He gave the number 660 to the definition for the Serpents; and he gave the number 6 to the Scorpions.

We already know that the beast is made up of the Serpents and the Scorpions. This verse tells us that the beast has the numbers 660 and 6 assigned to it, the definitions being Serpents and Scorpions. You can’t get any more literal than that. Numbers are to be taken literally.

And while the apostate church looks for the chip with 666 in it and looking for an antichrist whose name adds up to 666 in the Greek or the Hebrew, or any other methodology they can conjure up, it is right before their eyes but they cannot see it. Why, because they are blind and deaf. But we, who are wise and understand these things look to the Metaphorical language to interpret the Word of God as He meant it to be interpreted by His people for we are the children of God.

There are levels to understanding any concept, and faith is no exception. As we move and grow in understanding the mysteries of faith and prophecy the Lord invites us into an increasingly mature understanding of the written Word.

There are principles of interpreting Biblical prophecy that take us from the “milk” to the “meat” of the obscure passages found in the prophetic writ which, if followed carefully, open up new understandings and new levels of faith.

YAHWEH moved, in times past, in the physical outworking of signs and wonders seen in the Old Testament which culminated in the revelation of His Messiah. The New Testament transitioned those same patterns into movement in the Spirit. This study gives us valuable insights into the patterns of prophecy which are now discerned spiritually, by understanding the patterns given in the Old Testament.

This study is based on the research originally presented over several years in the “Third Day” studies on the Threshing Floor. We now condense those studies into nugget-sized concepts that can be more easily examined.
