Researcher and author, Ev Haliford speaks to the gross myths about Russia being the antagonist of Gog/Magog in Ezekiel 38-39. Modern premillenial/rapturist doctrines have distorted prophecy to insinuate that Russia is “Gog” which “comes down to take a spoil” of Israel, thus triggering the rise of the “Antichrist” and triggering the great tribulation.

He covers a vast expanse of history and explodes a number of myths about the history of Russia, the origin of the Roman church, that Russians view themselves as direct descendants of the Romans (the title “tsar” is a transliteration of “Caeser”); the creation of the Cyrillic alphabet by Cyril and Methodius to translate scripture into the spoken Slavic tongues.
More startling, Ev not only uncovers the true Christian roots of the Russian people, but speculates that Russia may be the repository for Christianity in the world, as the west falls deeper in godless humanism and cultic religious forms—a type of the woman in the wilderness (Revelation 14).
