Hear: ”Rapture Rhetoric Rebuttal Part 2-”Pulling Down the Pillars”

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;  And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.-2Timothy 4:3-4

Chris White, Chuck Missler and the Rapture Cult: “Black Awakening”, alien abductions, UFOs it’s the RAPTURE!

Chris White, host of the Revere Radio Network program, “Nowhere To Run’ unfolds his rapture scenario and gives us a picture of some alternative future.

White, the creator of the Zeitgeist Challenge and a sharp critic of New Ager, Michael Tsarion and shortwave historian/researcher, Alan Watt promotes the Pre-Trib rapture doctrine, and one of the primary promoters of Pre-trib doctrine: Chuck Missler. We hold Chris’ toes to the fire and take apart his wild-eyed theories and CHALLENGE him to produce consistent scripture for this rambling commentary.

    Back in early 2000, I received an anonymous mailing of ‘The Apocalypse Chronicles,’ from an odd group called Christian Media, >www.christianmediaresearch.com. I decided to get James Lloyd’s book, ‘The Rapture Cult: Dishonesty in Dispensationalism,’ and a 4 hour tape set, ‘The Seventy Weeks of Daniel,’ It was clear that this was a confused individual that didn’t believe in the rapture, so I felt it was my duty to straighten him out. After all, I had a full bookcase that covered the end times, an NIV Study Bible, and I just saw the video, ‘Left Behind’, and ate it up. (Go team!) The Christian bookstore downstairs, from where I lived didn’t have a single book on a different ‘doctrine’ from the pretrib rapture point of view. James Lloyd had to be a heretic. After all, Dave Hunt wouldn’t lie to me, now would he. I was pretty pumped up, and was ready to dissect him, and then give him a mercy killing.
    The funny thing though, was that he gave me the spiritual Coup de grâce. I thanked him for showing me the error in my way. Since the scales of Leviathan fell from my eyes, I have been very sensitive to the lies of the Rapture Cult.
    Probably my first favorite proof text that the Rapture is a Jewish fable, is found in 2 Thessalonians. Starting at 2:1, it says: “Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,” and equate it with the rapture. This is not true, and is nothing more than say, Chris Ardern, Bob Gerrity, and Bill Johnson, getting together to present a ‘Watchmen Weekly’ radio show; or Randy Maugans and Sue Patterson having their ‘Third-Day’ studies.
    2 Thessalonians 2:3 says: “Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition.”
    In order to give his congregation its daily spell, the liar behind the pulpit has to read Chapter 2 at a Gatling gun pace. I will slow it down, take it apart, and show you what it really says. First, I will assign these letters to sections of the scripture, as follows:
    A = “that day”
    B = “there come a falling away”
    C = “that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition.”
    Next, I will replace these items with others to further illustrate my point:
    A = “the Packer game”
    B = “I buy two tickets”
    C = “I fill up the car.”
    Now, if I were to substitute the first group, with the second group into the verse, it would read like this:
    “Let no man deceive you by any means: for the Packer game (Go team!) shall not come, except I buy two tickets first, and I fill up the car.”
    My elementary knowledge of English grammar tells me that, just because item A is mentioned first, that does not mean that it is the first thing to happen. In fact, the word “first” indicates that A comes after B and C.
    The words “that day” also appear earlier in 2 Thessalonians, and it is the same “that day.” You won’t have any Dispensationalists preach about this “day” when playing the 2 Thessalonians 2:3 shell game though. It is mentioned in in 2 Thes 1:10, where the chapter is definitely speaking of the 2nd Advent of Jesus Christ! I will bring this out even clearer, by attaching 2:3 right after 1:10 now:

    [1:7] And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, [8] In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: [9] Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; [10] When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day…[2:3] Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition.” -2 Thessalonian 1:7-10, & 2:3

    Don’t get trapped playing the rapture game. Study “the” Resurrection instead.
