If you are caught for shoplifting you may go to jail however, all the myriad overleveraging, exotic derivatives, and financial “instruments” that were orchestrated by the largest investment banks in the world (which are now largely insolvent); are not even being remotely investigated. Where did all the money go? Only Bernie Madoff was convicted and he plea-bargained right off the bat probably because they didn’t want him spilling the beans on who was really implicated. Con man?
